NoLimit Larry Hosts Great Neighborhood Swim

NoLimit Larry’s Great Neighborhood Swim Recap

The 2nd Annual Great Neighborhood Swim, a free pool party for kids, was held July 23rd at Double Oaks Swimming Pool. The splash party was "Swim"presented by Smilestones Family Dentistry and sponsored by Bread of Life Youth & Family Services, Doc Roc Entertainment and Q Foundation all hosted by NoLimit Larry.

“At Smilestones, we take great joy in helping our community in whatever way possible. Our main focus is the health and education of children,” said Candace Cole, DDS, PA.

“COMP wanted to provide an outlet where kids could exercise not only their mind but their bodies and to provide a safe habitat for kids of all ages to fellowship,” said the founder of the COMP Program and WPEG radio personality, Nolimit Larry, on why they he started the swim day.

Children of Murdered Parents (COMP), hosts this event each year to promote exercise to the youth as well as show the importance of swimming. In 2010, over 200 children attended the event with their parents.

“Bread of Life decided to become involved because we wanted to support a positive event for the community,” said Ahmad Blakeney, director of programs.

With First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign in mind, No Limit invited the 11-year old Push-up Princess, Sabria, to tell kids why staying fit is important. Sabria, featured in Ripley’s Believe It or

Not, challenged Nolimit and his proathlete friends to a push-up contest which she overwhelmingly won.

Kids ages 0-17 entered for free while attendees over age 18 paid $1.00. Huge thanks to DTLR and Gutta Magazine for providing book bags with school supplies that were given away.

During the event 598 kids, ages 0-17, attended along with 175 parents and adults.

NoLimit Larry and special guests were interviewed onsite by News 14, WBTV-3, Street Cred and

Gutta Magazine. Charlotte Vibe and Charlotte Parent posted stories pre-event. Over 40 posts were shared by Nolimit’s 24,282 friends and followers.
