Chris Bosh Babys Mother Applies for Food Stamps

Miami Heat’s Chris Bosh is living the life, especially after garnering a championship last week. It seems however, that this exciting ride "Chris Bosh ex on Food Stamps"may come to a halt. The mother of his child, Allison Mathis, spoke with Gossip Extra about her disappointing financial situation.

Mathis revealed that she had to apply for food stamps after she was let go from her secretarial job due to budget cuts. In addition to this ordeal, her home is on the brink of foreclosure.
This may be surprising, because Chris Bosh, whose net worth is $18 million, lives in a 12.5 million dollar mansion with his wife Adrienne and newborn son, but only has to pay Mathis a mere $2600 a month in child support.

Mathis also stated that the reason that Chris Bosh is only obliged to pay such a small amount is because of his ability to compensate a top notch legal team. While extra money would be helpful, the only statement she said Bosh has made is that he is “saddened” by her current situation. Mathis may have been able to make ends meet in addition being afforded other nice perks if Bosh hadn’t sued her for appearing on Basketball Wives. She had filmed a couple of episodes but when they leaked his legal team had them stop production and ended up firing her.

Miami’s hometown hero may in actuality be an insensitive dead-beat dad. To see if Bosh will mention these allegations, you can catch him this Sunday on Oprah’s Next Chapter alongside Dwayne Wade and MVP Lebron James.

Charlotte Bobcats Looking For Answers in Draft

In the NBA Draft there are always speculations that a prospect will be a star in the making but once they get to the league they do not "Charlotte Bobcats"live up to the hype.  In the 1984 NBA Draft, the Portland Trail Blazers selected Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan and they receive ridicule for that oversight until this day.  Every selection is ultimately a gamble because with one wrong move you can miss a diamond in the rough.  With the second overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, the Charlotte Bobcats have a wide spectrum of prospects to choose from.

Prior to the draft lottery the Bobcats were hoping to land the number one overall pick in the draft, but things didn’t go as planned.  The New Orleans Hornets were the ones to receive the first pick and are expected to draft Forward Anthony Davis from the University of Kentucky, but who will the Bobcats select with their first pick to turn around their franchise?

Many scouts and experts suggest that they go with Forward Thomas Robinson from the University of Kansas.  Robinson is arguably the second best player in this year’s draft behind Anthony Davis.  With an illustrious career in college, Robinson is expected to perform right away in the NBA.  He is a rebounding machine who can add assistance to the Bobcats struggling front court in need of a player with size and strength.  Robinson is coming off a year with awards and accolades such as Big 12 Player of the Year as well as Associated Press Big 12 Player of the Year.  Experts rave about his athleticism and work ethic which means he should adjust to the NBA game rather quickly.

If the Bobcats neglect to choose Thomas Robinson, they might select Kentucky Forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.  The forward can add quickness, athleticism and a scoring threat to the Charlotte Bobcats team who ranked dead last in last season’s points per game average with 87.0.  Coming off of a National Championship victory with the Wildcats, “MKG” knows what it takes to conjure up victories in bulk and could possibly improve the Bobcats league worst winning percentage of .106 last year.  Michael Kidd-Gilchrist would be a great replacement in the small forward vacancy left by Corey Maggette, who was traded to the Detroit Pistons for Ben Gordon and a future draft pick.

Kidd-Gilchrist is a player with a lot of potential who can grow into a NBA star with for years to come.

All eyes will be on the Charlotte Bobcats to see who they will acquire with the second overall pick.  There is also potential that they could trade away that pick and move down in the draft but the offer from other interested NBA teams must be enticing.
The Charlotte Bobcats are clearly in a rebuilding stage but who knows how long the fans are willing to wait before they get a playoff contending team.
Executives Michael Jordan and Rod Higgins will be working tirelessly in the war room to determine which prospect in the draft is the best fit for their franchise because time is rapidly winding up.  In order to find out who the Bobcats choose you must tune in on June 28 to ESPN at 8 p.m. eastern.

Jennifer Williams Loses Her Bentley

Jennifer Williams just cannot catch a break. First, Shaunie O’Neal boots her off Basketball Wives, and now the repo man came for her "Jennifer williams"Bentley. The Toyota Motor Credit Corporation in New York filed a lawsuit against her, claiming that she hasn’t made payments on the used 2006 white Bentley that she bought back in 2009. They have tried to get in contact with her in the most peaceful manner as possible, but Williams had not responded. They repossessed the car with a “no return” order, which mean Jen is not getting her car back.
Toyota not only wanted the car back but also requested that Jennifer Williams pay the entire balance on the car which totals to $92,310.
Due to their bitter divorce process, Eric stopped making payments on the car behind Jen’s back. When she found out, she told him to come to her house and pick up the car. Looks like the repo man made it there first. The things we do to spite people.

Diabetes Stroke and Heart Disease Deaths Higher in Blacks then Whites

The Social Justice Ministry of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church & Sow Much Good Explains How During Food Inc. Movie "Sow much good"Premier.  When the Democratic National Convention converges on Charlotte in September, city boosters aren’t likely to tell this story: last year black death rates from heart disease were 1.5 times higher than for whites; death from stroke were 1.7 times higher than for whites; and death from diabetes were 3 times higher than for whites, according to Mecklenburg County Health Department.  Disparities in the local food systems also affect Hispanic Latino populations disproportionately.

On June 29, the Social Justice Ministry of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church has obtained the rights to air Food Inc., an award-winning documentary at 5:45 p.m. at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 3400 Beatties Ford Road (Conference Center A). The controversial 2008 documentary examines the fallout of U.S. corporate farming, from the mass distribution of unhealthy foods to production practices that are harmful to the environment, animals and employees. Entry for this showing is free and open to the public with a healthy perishable food item such as low sodium can foods, organic can foods, whole wheat/multi-grain noodles, dried fruit, dried, veggies, nuts, rice and/or oatmeal.

The Social Justice Ministry has invited Sow Much Good, Charlotte’s leading nonprofit to partner with in this event.   Sow Much Good is dedicated to eliminating barriers to nutrition  in poor communities, along with others will shed harsh light on our local and national health disparities. Following the film, commemorating the 42nd anniversary of Earth Day, Robin Emmons, executive director and founder of Sow Much Good will participate in a panel discussion on the connection between poverty and poor nutritional health.

Green Bay Packers - AJ Hawk Could Lose Playing Time to DJ Smith

There may be someone trying to take Green Bay Packers veteran linebacker A.J. Hawk’s spot in the 2012 NFL season, and that "Green Bay Packers DJ Smith"someone is none other than Charlotte native D.J. Smith. Many sports fans and critics alike strongly believe that the second year linebacker could take not only playing time, but also challenge Hawk for his starting job. After a successful rookie season, this is no surprise.

Historically, to compare the two would be a bit of a stretch. Hawk was a first round draft pick in 2006 from The Ohio State University while Smith was a sixth round draft pick in 2011 from Appalachian State University. The differences between the responsibilities that both the linebackers possess are also a factor to discuss. Hawk is considered the signal caller, and holds reign over the players who have the same position.

Despite these differences, ESPN.com, NFL.com and social media sites have been buzzing about the possibility of the up-and-coming linebacker emerging into the limelight. Hawk’s performance last season was not the most appeasing. Some sports critics also believe with vengeance that D.J. is highly competent to lead the Packers to victory and will be competing for the position. In addition, he is increasingly becoming a fan favorite.

Everyone can agree that head coach Mike McCarthy’s top priority is to bring Green Bay another championship, and despite the predictable option of choosing Hawk, Smith may rise to the forefront.
D.J. Smith is an alumnus of Independence High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. He started for three years out of four and was part of a team that went undefeated and won four straight state titles. During his time at Independence, he was often rotated between middle and outside linebackers. He received all-state recognition twice, an all-conference nominee three times and named team MVP his senior year. At Appalachian State, he led the NCAA Division I FCS in active tackles with 525 by the end of his career. He also became the first Appalachian State player since three-time NFL Pro Bowl nominee Dexter Coakley to have more than 500 tackles in his career. He graduated with a degree in Business Management.

2012 Olympics - Felix or Tarmoh

Athletes from across the nation assembled in Eugene, Oregon to compete for their chance to represent the United States of America in "2012 0lympics Felix or Tarmoh"the London 2012 Olympics.  Although there were many exciting performances, the most intriguing event was the Women’s 100 meter Dash final.

After Carmelita Jeter and Tianna Madison finished first and second respectively, everyone looked to see who would cross the line next to take the third and final spot.  World Class Sprinter Allyson Felix along with her training partner Jeneba Tarmoh were neck and neck with just a few meters to go to cross the finish line in the 100 meters.  Both ladies leaned at the line but it was too close to call with the naked eye to determine a winner.

Initially, the final spot was given to Jeneba Tarmoh but after further review the unthinkable happened.  It was a TIE!!!  When a race comes down to the lean at the finish line, it is whomevers torso crosses first not any other body part.  The photo finish showed that both athletes’ torsos crossed at the exact same time.  USATF Officials have offered Allyson Felix and Jeneba Tarmoh the option of a coin flip or a “run-off”.

Felix nor Tarmoh have made a decision yet on what they will do to determine a winner.  Both athletes’ will participate in the preliminaries of the 200 meter dash on Thursday, and a decision is expected to come shortly after.  If Allyson Felix and Jeneba Tarmoh cannot agree on an option in a tiebreak format, a coin flip will occur.

Many have voiced their opinions on this situation where they believe it is embarrassing for the sport, and others believe it is brings major excitement to Track and Field. However the dilemma is settled this event will go down in history as one of the most bizarre moments at an Olympic Trials for years to come.

Right now both athletes seem to be focused on the most immediate task at hand which is the 200 meter dash on Thursday, and the tiebreaker will take the back seat for now.
The country awaits the decision of Tarmoh and Felix before trials end with great anticipation as the London 2012 Olympics are just around the corner.
